POPE, early settler in Kemper County (listed in 1840s tax rolls may be the same person as Wiley Martin POPE (b. 1799 in SC and later lived of Lowndes County, MS), who was the son of Elizabeth (Norris) Pope and the stepson of Ezekiel Nash (widow Elizabeth Norris Pope married Ezekiel Nash in 1801, SC... they later immigrated to MS in 1818 or 1819).
