The above photo is Martha Hand Dale, the daughter of Hugh
Dale and Catherine Clanton. She was born 16 July 1834 in Sumter Co, AL. She
graduated from Aberdeen Female College in 1852 and married William Carter Sansom
on 14 Jan 1857 in Scooba, Kemper Co, MS. After 1870, they moved to Okolona in
Chickasaw Co, MS. William Sansom died 12 Feb 1890 and Martha died 7 Sep 1910.
They are buried in old Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Monroe Co, MS. They
had the following children:
